Arizona allows for medical, personal or religious exemptions; however, a health care provider must sign the medical exemption form. Please use the ThrivePoint High School immunization/exemption form if you’re requesting an exemption.

Prior School Requirements

All students who have previously attended public school, private school or homeschool are eligible to enroll. Students who are currently expelled from a public school are eligible to enroll.

Student’s Birth Certificate

A copy of the student’s birth certificate must be provided to verify age eligibility. To avoid unnecessary delays, provide a copy of this document along with your enrollment documents. Note: Birth certificates can be obtained from the Arizona Department of Health Services. Can anybody do online school?

Online school is available to most students, but there may be specific eligibility requirements depending on your age, grade level and residency. ThrivePoint High School serves Arizona students in grades 9-12 and offers flexible online learning options. Can you enroll in an online school at any time?

Yes! ThrivePoint High School offers open enrollment, meaning you can start at any time throughout the year. Our flexible scheduling allows students to begin courses when it’s most convenient for them rather than waiting for a traditional semester start date.

What makes an online school accredited?

An online school is accredited when it meets the academic and operational standards that recognized accrediting organizations set. Accreditation ensures that the school provides a high-quality education, follows state curriculum guidelines and offers diplomas that colleges, employers and other institutions recognize. ThrivePoint High School is accredited in the state of Arizona, meaning our courses meet rigorous educational standards and our graduates receive a diploma that is widely accepted.

Is online school free in Arizona?

Yes! In Arizona, many online public and charter schools, including ThrivePoint High School, are tuition-free for eligible students. As a state-funded school, we provide a high-quality online education at no cost to Arizona residents in grades 9-12. However, some optional programs or materials may have associated fees. What is a ThrivePoint Student Success Coach?

A Student Success Coach is a dedicated, personalized mentor who provides one-on-one academic support, guidance and advocacy for our high school students, helping them navigate their educational journey through holistic coaching and individualized strategies. At ThrivePoint High School, we are passionate educators who meet with students weekly to empower them to identify, build and achieve their academic and personal goals by offering comprehensive support, communication and resources tailored to each student's unique needs.

Why is ThrivePoint’s enrollment process different from other schools?

Local schools serve one district. ThrivePoint High School serves students from multiple districts statewide. Not all districts statewide accept the same documentation.

How does self-enrollment work if I am at least 18 years old or an emancipated minor?

Students who are 18 or older must meet ThrivePoint High School’s age eligibility requirements. Students must also submit academic documentation of all courses attempted since entering the ninth grade. A school counselor will review documentation to determine the student's eligibility to complete the program requirements before meeting the age cap for enrollment. Students who cannot complete the program requirements before meeting the age cap for enrollment are not eligible to enroll. Both emancipated minors and students 18 years and older are required to complete the parent/legal guardian (caretaker) acknowledgment form and provide all required enrollment documentation before the student can enroll. What immunizations are required to enroll?

According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, “There are some immunizations required for all students in kindergarten through 12th grade and two that are required once a student turns 11 years of age.” You can compare the student’s immunization record to Arizona’s immunization record requirements here.

Where can I get immunizations for my student?

Immunizations can be obtained from doctor’s offices, clinics or hospitals. Pediatricians and family doctors or their nurses or medical assistants can give your student the shots they need to meet the requirements for school enrollment. In addition, some large chain pharmacies offer immunizations for older children and adults. Student immunization records can also be accessed via the Arizona State Immunization Information System.

What if I need assistance paying for vaccines?

If you need assistance paying for shots/vaccinations, you may be able to get free or reduced immunizations through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. VFC is a federally funded program that provides vaccines at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of an inability to pay. Children who are eligible for VFC vaccines are entitled to receive pediatric vaccines that the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends.

Are there immunization exemptions?

A student may be exempt from immunizations for medical reasons, religious beliefs or personal reasons. All exemptions require a signature and date. Letters must be submitted each year. According to the state of Arizona, 'A child will not be allowed to attend school until either proof of immunization or a completed exemption form is submitted to the school.” The Arizona Department of Health Services “respects the rights of parents to decide whether or not to vaccinate their child.”

What transcript or academic record information does ThrivePoint require?

Students enrolling at ThrivePoint High School must provide academic records for proper placement. Required documentation: Unofficial transcript: The transcript should include complete end-of-year grades from the prior school year. What if my child has been formerly homeschooled?

If your children are currently homeschooled, please complete the prior academic history form available to you in the enrollment portal. This form indicates what courses the student completed through a homeschool curriculum.

What if my student’s legal guardianship is determined by a court order?

You may need to provide additional documentation if your or your student’s legal guardianship is determined by a court order. If this is the case, please submit a copy of the order in your enrollment portal.

How can I verify that the document I sent arrived with ThrivePoint?

After submitting your documents, you can check the status of your documents by visiting the enrollment portal. If you are unable to verify the status of your documents or have any questions, please call (602) 870-2000 and contact the enrollment team using the document submission option in our phone system. We will check the system to see if the document was received. Please be prepared to provide us with the following information: student’s name, number of pages sent, date sent and fax number (if sent by fax).
