If you’re looking for an excellent education opportunity, and you’ve already researched the learning centers provided by ThrivePoint, you may think it’s a no-brainer! But which campus (should you want to be on-ground vs. online) do you choose? The easiest choice might be the one closest to you, but what if you live in an area smack dab in the middle of 2 or more of our campus’ areas of coverage?
Then let me introduce you to the Avondale campus! Championed by a staff of just 5 – Mr. Mercier – the Learning Center Coordinator, Ms. Gonzales – Front Desk Administrator, and Mrs. Holmes, Ms. Terrazas, and Ms. Whitworth – our Success Coaches. Together the 5 of us work diligently to support our students’ scholastic needs as they pursue their academic goals. We provide the same educational opportunities as every other campus, but with our own personality twist to the scheduled work day.
- Students get hungry during a session? We take a snack break (we keep our pantry filled with all the food that today’s teenagers enjoy, and we even have a few healthy options too LOL)
- Students seem like they’re dragging (usually in the morning)? Then we take a brain-break! Everyone gets up and stretches, we have some guided conversations, or we play some music for a few minutes to get them out of their ruts.
- Covid got them down and missing their friends? We have Fun Friday to chase away any socialization blues. We either watch an age-appropriate movie (with popcorn & snacks provided) we break out the life-sized Jenga pieces (see attached picture) or our staff challenges the students to a variety of board games to include chess, checkers, various card games, dominos, magnetic darts, as well as others.
We’re centrally located between the 101 & 303 freeways just off the I-10 in between Dysart Rd and Fairway Dr. We’re right across the street from the local DMV, and are bookended by both the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the Avondale Fire Department.
While all of our campuses provide an awesome educational experience, we believe here at the Avondale campus, that we’ve got everything (and more) that you need to succeed.
