ThrivePoint Surprise Campus

This month, several branches of the United States armed forces visited the ThrivePoint High School Surprise campus to connect with students and teach them about some different career options to explore after high school.

On October 11th, Petty Officer Nathan Hale from the United States Navy visited our morning and afternoon sessions. He prepared a great presentation outlining his journey with the Navy and the impact it has had on his life. Our students were particularly interested in the benefits of traveling the world. Many of them shared that they would love to go to Japan someday, and they really enjoyed hearing stories about the time Officer Hale spent stationed in Okinawa.

On October 18th, we received visits from Air Force Staff Sergeant Sydney Yee and her partner Airman Woodward. They did an excellent job at explaining the enlistment process for the United States Air Force and the comprehensive benefits that accompany it. Sergeant Yee asked each of our students about their plans after high school and what their dream job would be. She shared about the plethora of jobs in the Air Force and how each of our students could find their dream career within the service branch.

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to hear these service members speak to the students and spark some interest about the Armed Forces! Both groups also brought along some wonderful free gifts and trinkets for the students and they were so thankful. We are looking forward to having them back again next semester.
